I am not a fan of current Nissan design language. I haven't been a fan of Nissan designs since the 2000 Nissan Maxima, a refresh of an older design. Having said that, I can't help but love the next Nissan Rogue. It's proportions are seemingly fantastic and I just like it.
What say you, Oppo?

It isn't as horrible as Juke, but it still looks over-styled, and Hyundai-like.
I don't get why they think that compact CUVs need 3 rows of seats. Not everybody needs a bus, and usually the smaller ones were intended for people who didn't need three rows if seating.
Now if someone could actually build a SERIOUSLY CAPABLE compact CUV with robust parts, not just econo-car on stilts parts, that looks either truly purposeful, or truly sporty... that might be something.
So many companies build these soft, over-styled CUVs... nobody builds anything like the Hummer HX concept (Wrangler doesn't have 4-wheel independent suspension or full-time pavement-and-turning-capable AWD), or a coupe-like regular production somewhat-normalized RallyFighter alternative, with real 3-diff AWD, and enough power to move a vehicle that weighs a bit due to having parts that won't simply crumble after 100K miles.
A utility vehicle used to mean something in terms of robust build quality and longevity, and ability to withstand conditions worse than new flat pavement. They needed to be refined, but instead they have just put econobox 5-door wagon-lets on stilts, and called them CUVs, to make cars side-step the CAFE double-standard for light trucks.
Since normal cars (not on stilts) have a harder and harder time not being beaten to death by decaying public road infrastructure... I for one, want a daily driver that CAN conquer bad pavement, and winter conditions, and all the other crap that life throws at it. A bit more ground clearance is fine, but I still wonder if the suspension can survive past 100K miles without needing to be entirely refitted, or causing collateral damage to the driveline and the rest of the car when it wears out.

It looks like the rouge came first and the pathfinder was a blobbed out version of this...I wonder if that was the case, but they decided the pathfinder needed to be introduced first.

I guess that's always possible. I also like the very Dacia Duster ish look of this.

You make a lot of great points. The three row seating is ridiculous. My mom has an Equinox and it's rather nice but not 3 seat worthy and she has no need for it. I also agree that these tall wagons are just that. A more capable vehicle that should last more than 100,000 miles is what a decent amount of people want. Remember the Envoy (and it's siblings)? It was capable and rather bulletproof. I know of several people who felt orphaned when those vehicles (and their tow ratings) were killed.
Sadly, it's a trend that I see lasting a while as they are so popular.

I played a Warrior in World of Warcraft, and I hate Rogues.
And I hate this one, too.

I ask you, do you hate it for it's looks or for what it represents?

Both, but more the latter than the former.
